The Super South Sustainable Innovation Design Competition is a global creative challenge that explores how innovation can create a more resilient, prosperous and sustainable future.
Inspired by the success of the Biophilia Poster Competition and the mission of Super South, the competition invites participants to visualize the technologies, systems, communities and ideas that will define the next generation of economic and environmental progress.
The competition culminates in public exhibitions, digital showcases, industry recognition and a growing community dedicated to advancing sustainable innovation throughout the Super South and beyond.

Select entries chosen by competition judges will be professionally printed and exhibited during the Super South Summit in Atlanta March 22-24, 2027.
The exhibition will place selected work before an audience of innovators, investors, policymakers, researchers, entrepreneurs, corporate leaders, students and members of the international innovation community.
Additional opportunities for publication, digital exhibition, and future touring exhibitions may be announced.

Entries will be evaluated by an international jury composed of leaders in design, sustainability, innovation, architecture, business, academia and the arts.

Adrian Caddy
Founder and CEO, Greenspace
Adrian Caddy is the Founder and CEO of Greenspace, a creative agency focused on the intersection of design and business strategy. He leads brand identity, experience and implementation projects that combine intelligent design to create lasting cultural and environmental impact.
His work helps forward-thinking brands, people, and places build meaningful connections while creating positive, enduring value.

David Carson
Design Director, davidcarsondesign
David Carson is an Emmy-nominated, multi-award-winning graphic designer, creative director and artist known for his groundbreaking influence on contemporary graphic design.
His ongoing projects span branding, fashion, VR, gaming and art. Through his independent practice, Carson continues to push creative boundaries and inspire new approaches to visual communication.

Lisa Babb
Design Educator Program Lead, Design Discovery with Apple
Lisa Babb is a graphic design educator and currently teaches Introduction to Graphic Literacy at the Georgia Institute of Technology’s College of Design, where she guides students in developing research-based visual communications and design solutions.
Inspired by her travels across Europe, the Americas, Africa and Asia, Lisa brings a culturally inclusive and human-centered perspective to her work.

Patrizia Schopf
Creative Director, Brand Culture Company
Patrizia is a brand identity designer with more than a decade of experience creating strategic visual systems for organizations across Europe. Based in BrandCulture's Barcelona office, she develops distinctive corporate and product identities that blend business strategy with contemporary design.
Her portfolio includes work for Proxima, Bovitz, Westwood Village, the Center for the Digital Future, and other internationally recognized brands.

Sam Eckersley
Associate Chair of Graphic Design, SCAD
Sam Eckersley is the Associate Chair of Graphic Design at SCAD Atlanta and founding partner of RED Partners. His award-winning work spans brand identity and campaigns for clients including HBO, Nike, CNN, Google and the NFL.
Sam previously served as President of AIGA Atlanta and has worked with renowned designers and organizations across the creative industry.

Sean Perkins
Founding Partner, North
Sean Perkins is the founding partner of North, an independent design studio established in 1995. Drawing on his Northern England roots, Perkins has shaped North’s distinctive approach to visual identity through research and direct visual expression.
His work has helped create memorable brand identities for leading global cultural and commercial organizations. North’s portfolio includes work for Meta, the Barbican and the Science Museum.

Byoung Il Sun
President, Founder, BI International Poster Art Biennale
Byoung Il Sun is an internationally recognized South Korean graphic designer, poster artist and educator. He is President and Founder of the B.I International Poster Art Biennale and Professor Emeritus of Visual Media Design at Namseoul University.
His work has been exhibited globally, and he has served on numerous international design juries.

Parisa Tashakori
Co-director, The Brand Studios at University of Colorado Boulder
Parisa is a Boulder-based visual designer, curator and educator originally from Iran. With 20 years of international experience spanning advertising, cultural institutions and academia, her practice uses design and collaboration to foster equity and meaningful connection.
She is an associate teaching professor at the University of Colorado Boulder and leads its Experience Design track.

Agnieszka Ziemiszewska is a Polish graphic designer, educator, researcher, curator, and AGI (Alliance Graphique Internationale) member. Her practice encompasses poster design, visual identity, publications and socially engaged projects.
A professor, she integrates artistic, academic and research-based work through international exhibitions, lectures, workshops and educational initiatives.

Our Terms and Conditions
There are no restrictions on entry or cost to participate. If you can create a poster, you can participate in the completion. But we must receive your entry by January 15, 2027 11:59 PM EDT.
We are unable to consider late submissions (even if they are a second late)!
All participants must certify submissions are original work that has not been exhibited elsewhere (including social media and other digital formats) or received prior awards. Participants will receive a digital Certificate of Participation. The exhibition will include approximately 100 poster designs selected by the panel of judges. The panel of judges reserves the right to reduce this number.
A total of four cash prizes will be awarded to Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze winners with the following prize award (all amounts in United States Dollars): Platinum – $2,500 (Two Thousand Five Hundred Dollars) Gold – $1,000 (One Thousand Dollars) Silver – $750 (Seven Hundred Fifty Dollars) Bronze – $500 (Five Hundred Dollars) Student – $500 (Five Hundred Dollars)
The works will be selected by the panel of judges and all participants selected will be informed by email before the March 1, 2027. Selected posters are eligible for cash prizes. The final round notification will be sent by March 1, 2027. All prizes guaranteed to be awarded. Final award winners will be announced during the award ceremony (date and venue to be announced at a later time). Prize winners need not be present at the ceremony to win. All award prizes shall be transferred to winners’ accounts within 30 days of award ceremony if winners provide valid contact information to transfer prize winnings. The panel of judges will determine winners based on their subjective evaluation of timely submissions in their sole and absolute discretion. If a winner cannot be contacted or is disqualified for any reason, Super South Summit, LLC reserves the right to determine an alternate winner, in its sole discretion. A parent or guardian of any participant who is a minor must sign a release on behalf of the minor to be eligible to receive a prize. Each winner must provide Super South Summit, LLC with valid identification and a valid taxpayer identification number or social security number before any prize will be awarded. Any person winning over $600 in prizes from Super South Summit, LLC will receive an IRS form 1099 at the end of the calendar year and a copy of such form will be filed with the IRS.
By participating, where allowed by law, all participants and winner(s) grant Super South Summit, LLC permission to use their submissions, names, characters, photographs, voices, videotape and likenesses in connection with promotion of this and other contests and waive any claims to royalty, right, or remuneration for such use. By participating in the contest, where allowed by law, participants agree that Super South Summit, LLC may disclose personal information obtained from participants in the contest to third parties and use such information for marketing and other purposes.
Super South Summit, LLC is not responsible for undeliverable, lost, delayed, misdirected or misaddressed email or any other issues regarding the electronic delivery of the contest submissions. The sole determiner of eligibility for the final consideration will be the time the email entry submission is received at our offices.
By participating in the contest, participants agree to be bound by the decisions of the panel of judges and Super South Summit, LLC personnel. Persons who violate any rule, gain unfair advantage in participating in the contest, or obtain winner status using fraudulent means will be disqualified. Any attempt to contact or influence the panel of judges and disruptive, annoying, harassing or threatening behavior is prohibited. Super South Summit LLC will interpret contest rules and resolve any disputes, conflicting claims or ambiguities concerning the rules or the contest and such decisions concerning such disputes shall be final. If the outcome of the contest is affected by human error or intentional interference, Super South Summit LLC, reserves the right to make such other decisions regarding the outcome.
By participating in the contest, each participant and winner waives any and all claims of liability against Super South Summit, LLC, its employees and agents and other contest sponsors for any personal injury or loss which may occur from the conduct of, or participation in, the contest, or from the use of any prize. In order to receive a prize, participants must sign an official waiver form provided by Super South Summit, LLC.
The conduct of the contest is governed by the applicable laws of the United States of America, which take precedence over any rule to the contrary herein. Contest void where prohibited by law.
